Bo-Kaap
The oldest surviving residential neighbourhood in Cape Town, with origins that date back to the 1760s.
The neighbourhood
Formerly known as the Malay Quarter, Bo-Kaap sits at the foot of Signal Hill, rooted in Malaysian, African, Indian and Sri Lankan culture.
It is right on the fringe of the city centre, footsteps from trendy coffee shops, breakfast spots and the heart of the city.

The colours of Bo-Kaap

From the front door
At 12pm every day a cannon is fired on Signal Hill and heard across the city. Step out of the house, look right, and the sign guides you to the Noon Gun.
You can drive, yet many go for a run or a walk.
Near the house
Five minutes to the city centre and De Waterkant, twenty to the V&A Waterfront.
Restaurants and cafes within 500 m, and beaches less than 3 km away.
